Nagi's Wild Adventure
Scene 1
Scene 2
Scene 3
Deep within rugged mountains bereft of
life, a cave opens in a jagged cliff face...

Avoided by all, this labyrinth of death and
despair is known as "Cloudbreaker Cavern."

Nagi
I see now why the wind whispers of this
"Adventurer's Doom."

Nagi
Standing at its entrance I feel the dread
that robbed others of their courage.

Nagi
As if this dark, gaping maw leads to the
eternal despair of the underworld...

Nagi
However! I shall walk that path to the
deepest depth.

Nagi
For it is here that I will at long last claim
the legendary Cloudbreaker Maul...

Nagi
...and offer it to the princess of my heart,
Miri, so that she may know my devotion!

RUSTLE

Nagi
Have the foul beasts of below come to
greet me so soon?!

Bandit
Urgh... It's so bright.

Bandit
I made it? Hah, I made it! I thought for
sure I was a goner!

Nagi
Alas, my demons were but shadows and
this scruffy young squire.

Bandit
A bikki? I never thought I'd be so glad to
see a frog.

Bandit
Wait... You're not thinkin' of
headin' into this cave alone, are you?

Nagi
I am! And there shall be no mercy for any
man or beast who seeks to stop me!

Bandit
I wasn't gonna stop you. But I will warn
you. Quit while you're ahead.

Bandit
The whole place is crawlin' with monsters.
And if that's not enough—

Bandit
Two dragons with real nasty tempers have
made their nest in the depths.

Nagi
Ho-ho! Ill-tempered dragons, you say?

Bandit
We thought we could sneak in for some
treasure but we barely made it out alive.

Bandit
Speakin' of, have you seen my partner?
She got out before me, but she was hurt.

Nagi
A maiden in distress? Why did you not
say so sooner?!

Nagi
We have not a moment to spare. We must
find her!

Bandit
Sounds like you haven't seen her. She
probably headed back to town.

Bandit
I guess I'll head back too.

Nagi
How my heart aches knowing a maiden
goes without my aid...

Nagi
At the very least, I must express the depths
of my concern with these medicinal herbs!

Bandit
Oh? You're handing 'em out for free? If
so, I'll take 'em off ya hands.

Nagi
They are not for you, young squire. They
are intended for the maiden you spoke of!

Bandit
Yeah, yeah. I get it. You got a thing for
the ladies. I'll pass the herbs on.

Bandit
Thanks! I warned ya about the caves, so
don't do anythin' stupid!

Nagi
I now find myself without any herbs
of my own...

Nagi
And if that young squire is to be believed,
a frenzied dragon—nay two dragons—await...

Nagi
However! I am Nagi, the wandering
swordmaster! I do not run from danger!

Nagi
What is a dragon compared to the
lightning speed of my blade? Onward!!

Kaidaros
Who dares to disturb my slumber?

Nagi
I did not expect you to speak the common
tongue so well, wyrm!

Nagi
I am Nagi! A traveling swordmaster who
swears allegiance to the princesses of Erden!

Nagi
I have come to reclaim a weapon of great
renown from these caverns of dread.

Kaidaros
Hmph. Another adventurer mad with greed.

Kaidaros
Why do you seek to throw your fleeting life
away for a mere trinket?

Nagi
You understand nothing of my purpose,
ignorant wyrm!

Nagi
My life is not my own! It belongs to each
and every princess of Erden!

Nagi
If it is for them, there would be no waste
in my demise!

Kaidaros
Your words are a mystery to me. You may
be the most crazed of those who have come.

Kaidaros
But it matters not. If you are so desperate
to throw your life away, I shall indulge you.

Kaidaros
However, I will warn you. Rahanaar, who
slumbers beyond, is more terrible in wroth.

Nagi
There is no glory without pain! You shall
not even see the blade that strikes you!

Nagi
At long last, I have found the famed
Cloudbreaker Maul!

Nagi
The countless trials I have overcome shall
be sung by minstrels of the courts.

Nagi
It is as the rumors said. The shine is like
that of the morning dew on a rose!

Nagi
Truly, this weapon is fit for the hands of
a princess!

Nagi
Wait for me, dear Princess Miri!

Nagi
I shall come to you with not only my heart,
but also a weapon of legend!

Miri
I don't want it.

Nagi
A thousand pardons, my lady, but...

Miri
I said, "I don't want it."

Miri
What in Erden is this hideous clump of
metal?

Nagi
"Hideous"?

Nagi
My lady, this weapon is one of legend! It
has been sung about in the tales of—

Miri
I don't care about legends!

Miri
What I want is a weapon of unsurpassed
grace, beauty, and power. Like myself.

Miri
A scepter. Or perhaps a fencer's blade.

Miri
And yet you come to me with this stupid,
unwieldly block?

Miri
Perhaps you mean to say that I am as dull
as this hammer?

Nagi
L-Lady, I merely meant to say that the might
of this hammer is befitting one as powerf—

Miri
Be silent! I have grown weary of your
excuses.

Miri
If it is so powerful, and so legendary, then
you have it!

Nagi
You would like me to have it?

Nagi
Hmm... Ah-hah!

Nagi
Your message is received, my lady. You
have given me this hammer...

Nagi
...as a means of protecting you for the rest
of your days!

Miri
What are you talking about? I said nothing
of the sort.

Nagi
Lady! Say no more on the matter.

Nagi
I hereby swear to protect your loveliness,
as I would a desert flower, for all time!

Miri
(sigh) I don't care anymore. Do as you
please.

Thus the legendary Cloudbreaker Maul
was returned to the surface world.

However, the deeds this weapon would go
on to accomplish, are another story...
